any suggestions for a tatto artist in the Chicago Area ?
Wrist Tattoo for 16th Birthday ?
I would say wait until you are older for maturities sake. If you still want it by that time get it. Your taste might change and you might regret it. Being legal or not, a couple extra years lets you get to know yourself that much better. Think about future jobs. I wanted the one I have on my wrist and the guy asked what I want to go into and suggested ankle or back instead because it's not professional to have tattoos showing in many jobs. I ended up with it on my ankle and am so glad I didn't get it on my wrist. Most people can't even see it when I'm barefoot and in shorts. I'm not saying don't get one but do think about that. Ignore anyone saying you'll regret it when you get old and it looks like crap, you'll still remember why you did it in the first place so you wont need the perfect image. Put more thought into it, if you have ANY doubts, don't do it and talk to local artists by calling or going in. Also look up state laws, I know Washington requires you to be 18 no matter what. Some shops that could do it wont because it's not a two party thing, the parents are part of it and that can get messy. Email me if you want, I went through the same thing with mine about the placement and jobs.
Reply:You are welcome! I like the idea if it works out for that though! Report It
Reply:if i were you i would find a different place to put it only because like someone said already you will have problems finding a job.
im from australia and i have found it very difficult finding a job just because of my piercings and i dont have many
think long and hard about it
Reply:I thought that a person had to be 18 to legally get a tattoo.
Reply:They won't do it, even if you bring a birth certificate and a parent. I tried it in California. The artist I talked to said the only place a 16 year old can go to a professional tattoo shop and have one done is in Nevada, and you have to show proof or residency. I know, it sucks, I wanted a tattoo since I was 14 and I had to wait till my 18th birthday to get it.
The only way 16 year olds in your area got them was to have a friend or someone who does not have a license to do it for them. Believe me, I know
Reply:Yes, it is a bad idea.. You have to think about when you get older and the placement of tatoos.. Never get a tattoo on your hands, neck, wrist, or forearms..It doesnt look good later in life for your future "real job." Get them in places that it shows but can also be covered up if you need them to be.
Reply:Only get it if you're Irish.
Reply:Go ahead and get it. It'll hurt but not badly.
Reply:As long as you are able to cover the tat it shouldn't ruin your chances for a job. But some employers don't like tats to show.
I like the idea of a clover on your wrist.
Reply:I would not get it where it cant be covered when your in a short sleeve tshirt, I have one on my forearm and it was the biggest mistake ever. If you must get a tattoo get it somewhere it can be covered, and 16 is way to young.
Reply:I would wait on any tattoos until you are like 21. I rushed out on my 18th birthday and got a tattoo, I am 24 now and hate it. You are not where you are going to be forever as far as style, things you like etc. Ask yourself this one question do you want to be a 40 yr old soccer mom with a shamrock on your wrist? People are alot more accepting of tattoos now then they were before I would just get one that is not visible. xoxo
Reply:Yes it is a bad idea, wait until your old enough. Legal age in most states is 18 and honestly at 18 you may not find that tattoo as cool as you do now.
Dont be in a hurry to grow up, I didnt start getting tattoo's until I was about 21, and I'm glad I waited. I havent regretted a single one that I have.
Reply:I got a purple butterfly on my left wrist about three weeks ago and it was PAIN! I love it and can wear a watch or a big bracelet to cover it up or even a hair tie on my wrist. Not only did it hurt, but it bled like crazy but totally worth it, good luck!
Reply:my wrist tattoo hurt. not like the worse pain i've ever felt, but definitely worse than my other tattoos ( i have one on my should blade area and on the inside of my ankle). the tattoo on my ankle is actually over some bone (when it's directly on bone it really hurts) and the wrist still hurt worse. if you can tolerate a moderate amount of pain, you'll b fine. it kinda feels like a bee sting each time the tattoo artist has to stop for ink and start again. but since ur tattoo is small you should b ok.
also, and this is just my opinion. i REALLY think you should wait until you're at least 18 to get your tattoo. and yes having a tattoo can affect you getting a job, especially when they have a strict dress code policy (which usually includes rules about piercings and tattoos). it the tattoo is small enough you can always cover it with a watch or bracelet but still, you are taking a chance.
again, really consider waiting until you're 18
Reply:To get a legal tattoo
in a clean licensed shop
you have to be 18 with picture ID.

Reply:yea um sixteen. no have u ever thought of Ur veins there and KABUSH!! blood u could get a car
Reply:i want lips on my wrist.
ive heard that it hurts like hell
:[
you gotta be careful tho, make sure the guy knows what hes doing
Reply:Come on think about it ur 16. Don't do it. Yes it is really going to hurt and make u look trashy. U have plenty more years to think about tattoos. Right now focus on school, ur family, and friends. Good luck!!!
Reply:well to be honest im 19 and i dont have any tattoos i use to always want to get one small somewhere like where everyone could see it but then i realized its not that good of an idea because oneday if your trying to get a good job you have to cover it up somehow and usually jobs dont like that and they think its really unprofessional so you do have to think about that.
it probably will hurt but if you really want it then hell its worth it lol. x x
Reply:U are TOO young to get a tattoo. I waited until I was 35 before getting my first one. Plus getting it in an area that is out for everyone to see can limit jobs in the future and all sorts of stuff. If you have any doubts, ask your mom, grandmother or dad.
Reply:i think it would look great
i think it would hurt a little but nothing to hardcore
nice selection on the tattoo
a nice small one would be nice to have
Reply:its illegal and after a while it will turn into a blue dot.
Reply:It hurts so bad my any got one on her wrist and i went with her and she was crying for 1 hour
Reply:no way
Reply:dont do it your going to regret it when your 20 and trying to get a job.
Reply:I know that alot of tattoo shops will not do a tattoo in sensitive areas, or they charge an extra arm and a leg! I live in texas and you have to be 18 to get a tattoo, is your parent gonna take you otherwise. Also, a wrist tatoo is usally not a good idea b/c getting a job will be harder. Many business will not even hire you. And if they do they will make you cover it up in some lame way, long sleeve shirt or band-aid, or make-up. I would seriously reconsider.
Reply:sounds cute but i heard it hurts like hell
Reply:A 'tramp stamp' will mark you for life and will DEFINITELY affect your ability to get a good job when you apply....I'd reconsider.
For instance, you cannot become a police officer in the state of kansas if you have any tattoos at all.
