Reply:Too bad Persia still isn't with us--she had the truest talent. I hate to say that this isn't a personality contest. If it was, ShamRock would win hands down. I like him because he is likeable and has a lot of common sense. That's what makes him likeable. However, when they went head to head with some underground Detroit rappers--he choked. Did you hear someone from the crowd call him "Rabbit"??? Great 8 Mile moment and some funny stuff.
I haven't liked Mr. King of the Burbs since he started, but he's been consistent and he did great in the battle. He didn't choke and kept the slams coming at the other participant. I'm not sure how well his "Ghetto Revival" will be viewed, but I'm afraid that he'll win.
I don't think this show will be around for a 2nd season. I hope to see ShamRock and Persia again soon!

If you look, he was in many of the elimination rounds and never came close to being eliminated. And if you look at the battles in D-Town, he was the only one to make the opponent stumble. That whole "Ghetto Revival" premise and the "Hallelujah Holla Back" thing is wack though...

Ken Shamrock to fight again & Kimbo vs Tank!?
A couple days ago I was relaxing to Elite XC. I find this mma brand to be just as exciting as the UFC, if not better. Anyway, Ken Shamrock is going to be fighting on March 8th and a couple more fights at heavyweight, then finally fighting his bro Frank at 205! First off, I am a Ken Shamrock fan. Although he does act like a little kid sometimes, I still like him. I would love to see him win since he's over the hill. He mentioned how he feels the best he's felt in years and is ready to "roll some heads". Lets hope he does at heavyweight. Next, he wants to fight his brother? I don't know about this one...Frank is younger, more skilled, and smarter in the cage. Honestly, this is going to be like fighting Ortiz in their first bout at UFC 40, at brutal beating... Finally, my man Kimbo is fighting Tank Abbot! Holy ****, I couldn't believe this since their first fight at CFFC was canceled. I can't get enough of Kimbo and would love to meet him. I think he'll run through Tank. Your thoughts!

Ken is pretty much washed up. We all saw what he COULDN'T do when he fought Tito Ortiz. Oh, don't get me wrong. I would have LOVED to have seen Ken pull at least one of his specialty submission moves on Tito when they fought, but he's either forgotten how to use any of them, or he just plain never got the chance to use them since he was busy kissing Tito's fist with his face.
As for Tank and Kimbo, I give Tank a fighting chance IF he can put it away in the first round. After that, we all know Tank gets winded easily, and I think that's when a much younger Kimbo goes to work. I'd love to see Tank put Kimbo away quickly, but somehow I don't see this happening. Especially since EliteXC is more than likely counting on more than a few more matches featuring Kimbo in them.
This is the first I'd heard about Ken taking on his brother Frank. Last I heard, EliteXC was planning a LONG overdue match-up between a pair of now has-beens: Ken and Tank. Has-beens or not though, EITHER of them could probably still defeat anyone here answering your question.

At this stage both are side shows, with Kimbo only having one MMA fight, and that wasn't exactly a marquee matchup,and Tank being old and having lost alot of his matches. I agree with your assessment of Frank, but I'm wondering how the weight gain will affect him. Doesn't he usually fight at a lower weight. ?

As for kimbo. Yeah kimbo is a big boy probably has hands of steel. This is going to be a quick fight with kimbo knocking out tank. I really would like to see what would happen when kimbo gets matched against top notch mma fighter. His first fight against bo cantrel was crazy. To me it looks like elite xc when out and got their worst heavy weight and put them in there to take a beating, and this fight with tank is crazy. Yeah it would be a great fight if tank was in his prime, but he's not. I would like to see what Kimbo could do against guys like tim silva and frank mir, but they are in a different organization and probably will never happen. Oh by the way did you watch the kimbo slice vs sean gannon fight......kimbo got destroyed
Reply:i saw that show too. ken is past his prime and will never be as intimidating like in the early ufc. i don't really think he meant he would be fighting his brother at 205, i think frank fought at 185 in his last fight against phil baroni. anyway ken will be fighting in the heavyweight division, but i doubt he will have a successful lengthy run at it. if the shamrocks did fight each other i would have to give it to frank he is younger and more athletic with better cardio.
as for kimbo and tank, tank is past his prime too. kimbo being younger and have the opportunity to trained by bas rutten, his skill should pick up and be sharper. tank will run out of gas ( no pun intended) and lose.

Kimbo Slice can and most probably will get very ugly on Tank, yet Tank can knock people out remember when he knocked out Steve Nelmark...that dude looked like a corpse. I donjt think it will be Cung Le, the guy has 3 MMA fights and they want to throw him in there with one of the best ever. That does not make sense. They should bring in another free agent like Lindland vs. Shamrock would be pretty good.

Shamrock has stated that he'd like to fight Cung Le. If the fight can be booked in SoCal, where Le is huge, then Shamrock would without a doubt take the fight because of the revenue it would bring in. I'd almost bet that they would sellout whatever arena they'd fight in because Le would bring out tons if he was in a title fight. Throw Paul Buentello on the card as well, who also is popular in SoCal, and you have a packed house.

Ken Shamrock is synonymous with LEGEND. There's always those people who you don't want to leave because they are incredible to watch.
Shamrock admittedly stated that the sport had passed him by. I'd like to see him go on with his great life and not risk getting seriously hurt so that he can't enjoy himself from now on.

It is not fair, but it is life. Tats for many people mean the wearer has had jail or prison time or is associated with gangs. You know and I know that is not true, but here again that is the way a large majority of people think. I have tats and mine are located so that they can not be seen when I am at work. Perhaps, as the others suggested pick one that is smaller and more easily hidden.

I'm irish and scottish and I want to get some sort of shamrock thing. I was thinking like a 4-leaf clover with a few regular clovers around it on my ankle. All black, and relatively small. I'm over-weight right now and don't want to get a tat anywhere on my abdomen as when I lose weight it will probably look different or distorted. But I'm afraid that getting it on my ankle is so cliche now-a-days so where else could I get it?

Frank Shamrock vs. Matt Hughes, who would win?
Okay, this is a fight that I wish we could see, and I have always felt this would be a good fight. However, a lot of my friends think Hughes would definitely win. So, I am on here to get more opinions. At their peaks, and at the same weight class, who would win this fight?

Shamrock has wins over Bas Rutten and Tito Ortiz, he was the best fighter the UFC had when he left. He would easily mop the floor with Matt Hughes and I like Hughes too. Frank Shamrock could beat every UFC fighter in the 185lbs. class right now, only Silva and Hendo would be on his level in the UFC 185lbs.

Yeah Man they fought LAST night, and Tito won 2 min 22 seconds in to the match, he brought Ken down, worked him with the elbows again but wound up switchin' up and nailin' him with fists to slow the ending of the fight.
That was Ken's retirement match, and the final fight chapter between those two guys, so Ken could not challenge Tito again if he wanted to.

Yeah, I think Ken's lost his edge in ground fighting. In my opinion, he's too predictable, he should change up his strategy or have a better one, better yet learn newer techniques instead of sticking to the ones he's used to using.

Ya I saw that this morning, it was supposed to be Matt Hamill but all of a sudden it has changed. Shamrock needs to stay retired, I am sorry, I like Shamrock and all but he is done. Shamrock has lost 4 straight fights, twice to Tito, once to Sakuraba in Pride, and once to Rich Franklin. He hasnt won a fight since 2004 against Kimo and in his two prior fights he also lost. I know he is a hall of famer and all but he is 1-6 dating back to 2002. The only reason he is probably coming back and the fight was chnaged is probably to give Bisping a push and sayhe beat a legit guy and a legend. I think this move sucks, it was a great moment when Ken retired after the last Tito fight and now he is going to comeback and get beat again. I would have rather seen Bisping fight Hamill, it would have a been a greta fight between two up and coming young kids instead of an up and comer against an old washed up former legend.

In the first 30 seconds of the fight, you can see Baroni actually doing a move that after, keeps him from being the aggressive fighter he usually was. According to him, he pulled a groin muscle off the bone. But while in the ring, most fighters will still give it their all.
Even to the point that the ref's are saying themselves "something is wrong with Baroni, he usually is much, much more aggressive than that".
Personally, I think Baroni would have won this one, he was gassed, but Shamrock was carried off the mat, due to being winded. Baroni left unassisted.
And, Shamrock also, as he has done in the past, tried to sneak in a few illegal moves. 2-3 punches to the back of the head while on the ground.
I hope to see a rematch, and seriously, I think both fighters full shape, Baroni has the edge. After seeing what he did with a groin pulled.

Baroni came out strong for the first few seconds of round 1. You can tell those punches that he landed on Franklin hurt. However, Franklin punched right back and pretty much took Baroni to school. When Franklin threw a combination that seemed to knock Baroni down, the ref let the match continue. Luckily, Baroni made it tot he end of the round.
In round 2, Baroni showed some life. He threw some good punches at Franklin, but Franklin just put on a clinic and did what he did in the first round. Franklin just used a triangle choke to end to the match.
It was an entertaining match. Watch it on Dailymotion later.

Goldberg vs Stone Cold vs Ken Shamrock who would win?
My instinct say Goldberg. Stone Cold has very explosive finishing move, but overall Goldberg is faster and stronger. Ken Shemrock is good, but i don't think he can beat either Stone Cold or Goldberg.

Tito won 1:18 in the 1st round. Shamrock took 7 non stop elbows to the face and the ref stopped it.
I felt like I was cheated. That fight sucked. Ortiz was just getting started and the ref stopped it way too soon. I wanted to see that fight go at least in to the third round. There is so much bad blood between them that I didn't care who won, I just wanted to see a slober knocker of a fight. However the smart money was on Tito.

With June 22nd just a few weeks away, it seems that fans will finally get to see Phil Baroni and Frank Shamrock tee off. Many wonder if the fight will live up to the hype? The New York Badass went as far as posting challenges on internet forums, while Frank has chosen Youtube as his trash-talk outlet.
If one were to look at the records of both fighters they would see that they are mostly evenly matched with Shamrock getting the edge with more experience. Both fighters gained their popularity while combating in the UFC. While Frank entered the octagon with a 13-7-1 record, it was in the octagon that Baroni began to show why he is called the New York badass. But it was only after Shamrock vacated the title after going undefeated inside the octagon that Baroni stepped in.
Looking back one has to give Shamrock respect for his accomplishments, but seeing as how that was all of 8 years ago there is a lot more to this story. In 1999 Frank Shamrock retired from MMA claiming he was the best and feeling confident that he had proved as much. He made comebacks in both K-1 and the WEC, but it was Strikeforce that got the hype rolling again as he defeated Cesar Gracie in just 21 seconds. Now as he returns to Strikeforce he faces a much more serious challenger, Phil Baroni, on a fight card that seems to overshadow the upcoming UFC event that takes place just one week earlier.
While Shamrock has accumulated only 3 wins against mediocre competition from 2000 to the present, it was during this period that Phil Baroni made a name for himself. Racking up wins over Amar Suloev, Ikuhisa Minowa, Ryo Chonan, and Yuki Kondo, but it was his impressive 18 second knock-out of former Middleweight Champion Dave Menne that set the tone for his career, showcasing his style of powerful punches delivered with lightning quick speed.
When a fighter like Baroni touches gloves you know it could be very easily be lights out for his opponent, while Shamrock is always dangerous on the ground. So is this a classic striker vs. grappler match-up? Some would deem so, while others will point out that both fighters have stepped up their game and are well rounded competitors.
Shamrock is widely regarded for his conditioning, having shaped Tito Ortiz into the cardio-machine he is today, this could be a key factor that could give the advantage to Frank. Baroni is a power puncher and has on more than one occasion punched himself out, if the fight goes into round 3 I see Shamrock taking over.
But while confidence is almost always an advantage for a fighter, it seems that Frank has begun to buy into his own hype, thinking himself the Muhammad Ali of MMA. He has had his success, but the sport has come a long way since 2000, and few would argue that the talent pool has become far deeper.
Many fighters over the years have dominated their divisions only to have the competition catch-up to them and become written off as has-beens, and very few have retired and come back to regain their former glory. This is really Frank’s opportunity to show the world that he belongs in the MMA hall of fame alongside Randy Couture, or if he is destined to follow in the footsteps of Mark Kerr. While Baroni has his pride on the line and it seems is more excited at the opportunity to punch the “legendary” Frank Shamrock in the face than the payday that will follow.
So what will it be, a knock-out for Baroni, submission for Shamrock, or are we all in for a surprise? If one were to judge by the betting lines it would appear that Shamrock will enter the ring for the first time in a long while as the underdog. Regardless, one thing is for sure, June 22nd both men will enter the ring and only one will leave the victor, and I can only assume the post fight comments will be just as heated as the pre-fight trash talk.

If somehow Shamrock is still in the fight in rd 3, there is a good chance Baroni will be tired and Shamrock will need to finish him, which I'm not sure he's good enough to do.

Baroni is alot stronger and if Renzo Gracie was able to control Shamrock then Baroni is going to toss him around like a rag doll. Baroni's bread and butter is his striking. Although Frank has good hands as well i give the slight edge there to Baroni again. Wrestling is another area Baroni is better.
Shamrock's advantages over Baroni are his submission skills, cardio, and in ring smartness. However, his submission game will be cancelled out by Baroni's strength and wrestling. Shamrock is good on the ground but he's going to have to get him there to do the damage. He's going to need to use his other two great tools (smarts and cardio) to beat the NYBA. If he lets his ego get the best of him and doesn't pick his shots right and set up good combinations with great angles hes going to eat alot of hard punches, his cardio won't matter if he gets tagged on the chin.
My personal prediction is it ends early in the 2nd. I think Frank is going to take this fight light because he thinks he is the second coming of christ when it comes to fighting. I think Baroni is going to cause alot of damage fast. I think in the 2nd is when Shamrock is going to go night-night. And personally i'd love to see a B-level fighter do it to him as well. It might break that ego up a little.

Everyone seems to think that us Irish fall about the place drunk every St Patricks day, but it has been my observation that the people who actually do this are ex-pats or wannabee Irish, what do you think.

He used a three leaved shamrock to represent the trinity. One leaf for the Father, one leaf for the Son, and one leaf for the Holy Spirit. Shamrocks are abundant in Ireland (or at least in some places, I'd know, I've been there.), so the Irish people could relate easier to this.

He used a three leaved shamrock to represent the trinity. One leaf for the Father, one leaf for the Son, and one leaf for the Holy Spirit. Shamrocks are abundant in Ireland (or at least in some places, I'd know, I've been there.), so the Irish people could relate easier to this.

Shamrock's one of the pioneers of the sport, but the sport's made a lot of progress since Ken was in his prime, and Ortiz is still in his prime, while Ken isn't. I think that's among the reason's Tito's fighters on TUF3 were 3 of the 4 finalists - Tito keeps his training and his thinking fresh, while Ken is keeping the glory days of the Lion's Den in his head, and MMA has made a lot of progress in the last 10 years. That's why Matt Hughes was able to beat Royce Gracie as well - Gracie was great in his day, but doesn't integrate the fighting styles the way modern MMA fighters like Hughes, Franklin, Ortiz and Liddell do. Ken probably will be in another rematch, but I think he's at the same point in his career as when Ali fought Larry Holmes - he's a legend, but he needs to face reality.

Reply:You can use any graphics program to create an icon. If you're trying to have it show up in the address bar, here are perfect instructions for this:
1. Create an image 16X16 pixels in size. Yes, it is really small and you can't really draw much in it. You should also restrict yourself to the standard Windows 16 colours, although I suspect that 256 colours will work fine.
If you like, you can also create a 32X32 pixel icon, which will be scaled to size for the Favorites menu and the location bar. You can even put both 16X16 and 32X32 pixel icons into the same icon file. Windows will use the former for its menus and the latter when the user opens up a folder that is set to display large icons. It's probably not really necessary to do this if you can't be bothered.
2. Save the image as an ICO file (named "favicon.ico", of course).

1. Create an image 16X16 pixels in size. Yes, it is really small and you can't really draw much in it. You should also restrict yourself to the standard Windows 16 colours, although I suspect that 256 colours will work fine.
If you like, you can also create a 32X32 pixel icon, which will be scaled to size for the Favorites menu and the location bar. You can even put both 16X16 and 32X32 pixel icons into the same icon file. Windows will use the former for its menus and the latter when the user opens up a folder that is set to display large icons. It's probably not really necessary to do this if you can't be bothered.
2. Save the image as an ICO file (named "favicon.ico", of course).
3. Upload it to your website. You don't need to upload one to every directory of your site if you don't want to waste space - simply put it in your root directory and IE will apparently locate it eventually. You can also upload it into your images directory, but you will need to modify your web pages if you do. See later in this article for more information on this.

Monday update: Shamrock underwent a five-hour operation Sunday to put in a plate and six screws for a complete break of the ulna bone in his right forearm. Please help. I used to keep up with the UFC when I was younger. I have not watched in like 8 years. Apparently, Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock have had something going on for a while. How many times have they fought? I think three but did this Tito kid win them all?

Seriously, their feud is legend in the UFC, but usually anybody's feud with Tito Ortiz is legend. anyways, you might want to try and find some one that recorded TUF season 3 where they both were coaches. there's some good stuff there and then after that they fought again during UFC 61. you can buy that online or in stores for about $15 and then since Tito destroyed Ken in the 1st round of that fight and there was a controversial stoppage, Dana let them have a rematch a few months later, and Tito did the same exact thing to Ken that he did the 2nd time. Tito has totally dominated Ken in all of their fights and their between fight trash talk drama is always classic. Ken retired after losing to Tito the 3rd time and supposedly they burried the hatchet after that.

Ken Shamrock tooks offense because Mezger was a Lions Den fighter and began to yell at Tito and Tito flipped him off. Ken was very offended and they had a very hate filled rivalry for years, they finally fought in 2002 at UFC 40-Vendetta, Tito won when the fight was stopped after the 3rd round because Ken coudl no longer continue the fight. Tito pretty much punched Kens face in during the fight, Ken looked horrible when the doctors stopped the fight, his face was so swollen his eyes were barely open. The fought again at UFC 59 in 2006, Tito won by TKO at 1:18 of the first round, there was some controversy over the stoppage, some felt the ref stopped the fight to early but Ken was clearly not defending himselfm his arms dropped and he was getting hit by heavy elbows, it was a good stoppage before more damage was done. Due to the controversyy regarding the fight the UFC held a third fight between the two that took place on Spike TV on 10/10/06, again Tito won by TKO at 2:23 of the first round. After the fight Ken and Tito shook hands. Tito won all 3 fights and made it look simple.

Will Frank Shamrock ever fight in the UFC again?
No, he and the UFC and far from being on good terms, it would only happen if the fans demanded it and all the new TUF fans dont know who he is and all the hardcore fans don't like him because he left the UFC stating lack of competition and has refused to fight anyone of a serious ranking yet (save Renzo Gracie which he was losing the fight anyways before he got DQ'd). He is a legend when it comes to developing cardio techniquies, he studies the human body and physiology so when it comes to maintain high energy levels in the ring, Frank is an expert but until he steps up and fights a top 10 opponent he will be all talk in my book.

No, he's under contract with strikeforce, he's afraid to fight top guys in fear of tarnishing his legend status, and he left the UFC on bad terms (although ownership has changed from SEG to Zuffa).
On a side note, he slated to fight Phil Baroni in strikeforce in the not too distant future.
Reply:Probably not. He has shown a tendency to not want to play by the rules (fight against Renzo Gracie). I know I wouldn't want to fight somebody that wouldn't fight me on equal footing. I mean really, after the Renzo Gracie fight he was implying that Renzo wasn't as good of a fighter even though he gave him a concussion with an illegal set of blows. Who wants to put up with that?
