How do you guys fell about dana White whoring the sport of MMA?

personally i believe that the shamrock vs. Tito thing was way overplayed. and also he puts only the most entertaining and loud mouth fighters on the fight cards , instead of the better fighter. and his reality shows really piss me off as well, cage fighting used to be for people who liked blood shed not for people who like reality shows and laguna beach. last fight night i saw f*cking paris hilton in the front row , thats when u know mma is goin down the drains. what is your guys thoughts on this are u happy the mma is going mainstrea,?

How do you guys fell about dana White whoring the sport of MMA?
I don't agree with everything dana white does, but i think if u remember the state of the ufc when zuffa bought it, u have to agree that white saved it from oblivion. It was losing money, it was banned on alot of cable outlets, senator mccain was denouncing it, calling it a "human cockfight". Zuffa has taken what was considered a spectacle for drunk rednecks and turned it into a respectable sport.
Reply:Dana White doesn't always do the right thing (shamrock vs. ortiz) but on the whole UFC seems to be moving in a very interesting direction at the moment (fights between UFC and Pride now are going to happen http://www.ufc.com) so at the moment I don't feel like it is going down the drain. Obviously what he does in the future may change my mind, but for now I think things are going ok.
Reply:Personally, I'm glad that he is pushing MMA to such mainstream popularity. If he didn't do what he did, we wouldn't have TUF, Ultimate fight night live, and as many UFC tournaments, recaps, and tv shows as we do. There's just not enough programs on TV for guys. I enjoy Spike TV and am grateful for them to have the balls to air the UFC on 'Free' cable tv.
Reply:I'll give you props on pointing out the Paris Hilton thing, LOL!! MMA would be better if people were more educated on it, but most of the fans of MMA are boxing fan rejects.
Reply:Im real happy with the way MMA is going, and hope to one day be able to participate in it as well. And who gives a **** that Paris Hilton was watching a UFC fight? Hell maybe she's a fan of it. Dana isnt whoring MMA either, he still puts on great fights that dont deal with loudmouths, your whole perspective right now seems to be over Tito and Shamrock. It was like a little bitchy kid (Tito) fighting the elder who wouldnt shut up about how he was right and knows everything.

Yeah the fights were overratted, everyone knew that Shamrock was going to loose each and every time. And he did, the only reason why they fought the third time was because the fight was so fast and the viewers didnt get what they wanted, after the third and final fight, everyone shut up about it and moved on. And who cares about it anyways, do you actually realize how many organizations there are out there that involve "real" fighters, as you like to call them?

I dont either, but there is a lot, but anywhere you go you will always find someone talking crap, instigating a fight, trying to give the fans what they want because at the end of the day, its a business and if nobody watches, guess what, the fighters are jobless. Because the majority of those other organizations wouldnt even sign a UFC fighter because of the experience and worthiness it takes to fight in the UFC.

Man, why dont you grow up and stop worrying about things you cant change, and even if you could, these things dont need to be changed. What the do need to do is add more weight classes and have the fighters fight at their walking weight, this would cause better fights.
Reply:UFC is gaining all the power. Its hard to see for sure where it will lead. If they make good match ups it will be okay but if they try to sell the Ortiz - Shamrock type stuff it will suffer.
Reply:I don't feel like Dana White is "whoring the sport off MMA". In fact, since Dana's come into play with the UFC, the UFC has dramatically gained in popularity. I don't always agree with what he says, but I'm glad that he's out there pushing the UFC which has helped in getting MMA to even be considered a sport which to me is a victory for MMA fighters. There are some annoying loud ***, ignorant, unskilled fighters in the UFC, but there are still some great onea who are classy like Couture, GSP, Hughes, Franklin, etc, etc, etc. I couldn't be more happy that MMA is going mainstream. Afterall, if it wasn't then who would the fighters be fighting for? How would they get paid? I think in time, it will only get better, it's still somewhat new.
