I am a MMA fan and i have always wondered how Ken Shamrock did as a pro wrestler, in the opinion of the fans?

well he was fun to watch. but by his own admission WWE was never his passion and it was hard for him to understand. what he said was that in the WWE you pull your punches you pull your kicks and he spent his entire career attempting to KO his opponent with his kicks and punches. also he was trained to react to his opponents and find weaknesses and then exploit them to again KO his opponent. in the WWE everything is different because it is scripted. Ken shamrock hurt a couple of guys because of this problem. and when he walked away he has said that it was because he was afraid he was going to screw up and seriously injure someone in the ring one day and he did not want that. as a pro wrestler he was fun to watch and i think could have gone very very far in the WWE if he could have figured it out. but i have an enormous respect for him for walking away and understanding that he could have hurt someone. he is always fun to watch in MMA and ultimate fighting.

He was a mid-card guy. He did better in Japan when he was in a tag team with Don Frye.
Reply:He was a pretty good wrestler. He was an Intercontinental Champion, and a Tag Team Champion in the WWE. He was also a 1998 King of the Ring winner. He also won the NWA Championship as well. I like MMA as well. Shamrock is one of my favorites. It disappointed me that he lost to Ortiz. I wanted him to beat Ortiz at least once. He is still one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time. His brother Frank is one of my favorites as well. In fact, his brother Frank beat Ortiz. So, that is what I think.
Reply:Personally I thought he was a good wrestler but I didn't think it suited his personality.
Reply:He was alright. He couldn't talk worth a damn but he put on some fairly good matches.
Reply:o
Reply:I don't know what MMA is. Ken Shamrock was a great wrestler liked by fans at the start of his WWF career, later he turned alot of fans off with his anger controll issues, but may have gained the respect and admiration of many fans who saw him as a "babyface" when they saw that he could be ruthless. He was very entertaining and at the top of the roster, he held several titles. I liked him.
Reply:great in ring competitor and very intense. he was heavyweight champion material and i wish he would have stuck around. him vrs. benoit, angle, rvd, or eddie guerrero would have been classics.
Reply:he was great very entertaining. his character was insane, he would always snap. watch a couple of his matches on youtube
