Wow, some uninformed people out there...



Frank Shamrock is currently leading a team in the IFL (International Fighting League) as a coach. He fought in California's first mixed martial art event against Cesar Gracie where he destroyed him in 21 seconds of the first round.



Will he make it back to the Octagon? No, probably not. He had a big falling out with the UFC and in particular Dana White. Add to the fact that Dana White (President of the UFC) and the UFC are currently going after the IFL, that will pretty much seal the deal that Frank will never come back to the UFC.



He does however say that he will continue to fight in different shows, but as a Coach for the IFL he is not going to fight with them. I have two good friends of mine on his IFL team and have trained out in California with him, he is an awesome guy and an amazing fighter. He is 20 times better then Ken.



Also, Frank never lost to Tito, Frank was undefeated in the UFC and beat Tito so bad he tapped out.



You can look for Frank to compete in more upcoming Strike Force events, which is a new show based in California.



So he is still around, he just had a falling out with the UFC because they didn't want to pay him the amount he felt he deserved.



He's still around, and still a bad man, KOing a Gracie earlier this year in 21 seconds.



Edit: He also just signed a multimillion dollar deal with another fight promotion..

Frank Shamrock Signs Multi-Million Dollar Deal

Former UFC champion Frank Shamrock (Pictures) has signed a one-year, multi-million dollar contract with "The World Fighter," a new mixed martial arts promotion set to debut January 2007, Shamrock confirmed to Sherdog.com Thursday morning.



Shamrock, who called the agreement with The World Fighter a "deal of a lifetime," is slated to fight in Las Vegas on the January pay-per-view card versus a yet-to-be announced opponent.



In addition to main event "super fights," The World Fighter intends to promote tournament-style events pitting 16 fighters per weight class.



Cesar Gracie (Pictures) has been tabbed as the event's matchmaker and he's already signed several fighters, including brothers Nick and Nathan Diaz (Pictures) as well as Jake Shields (Pictures).



Ironically, Shamrock needed just 21 seconds to dispatch Gracie in a Strike Force-promoted contest last March. There had been discussion that the 33-year-old Shamrock would return to Strike Force to face Phil Baroni (Pictures), but with Baroni fighting in PRIDE in October and Shamrock agreeing to terms with TWF that bout now appears unlikely for the near future.



Shamrock, who retired from the UFC after defending his belt against Tito Ortiz (Pictures) in September 1999, said he remains under contract with Strike Force and also is committed to the International Fight League as the head coach. His team, the San Jose Razorclaws, takes to the ring Sept. 23 in Moline, Ill.
Reply:he lost to Tito Ortiz the last right, but he swore he's be back to take him on again. He hasn't retired yet.

I've not heard any news that he planned to retire.

Though he lost twice to Tito Ortiz, he has a great record, and is a really good MMA fighter.
Reply:Frank is Ken's brother (not biologically, both adopted). Frank is a great fighter and former light heavyweight (middleweight at the time) champion! He last fought in the UFC in 1999 against Tito Ortiz, he defended his title and left the organization, vacanting the title.
