Any particular reason why the color green is considered unlucky?

I always thought green was a very lucky color because it's the color of Ireland, shamrocks, four leaf clovers, the fourth color of the rainbow, tree leaves, plants, grass, moss, sea algae, seaweed, emeralds, 50% of the sea, 50% of the ocean and of course money.



So why is green considered unlucky?

People, answers please!

Reply:It depends on where you are getting your information. Green has always been considered lucky especially in Europe -throughout the ages. In the Renaissance, women who married wore green gowns as it symbolized fertility between the husband and wife.



Maybe in some cultures it is considered unlucky, but do some homework first as I have never read, heard or ventured upon any culture that felt green was unlucky.
Reply:Maybe because the Majority of the people in America constantly find themselves in debt and it is the color of money which is also the root of all evil? Oh and Lucky Charms are also really expensive...I've never bought a box and felt any better about myself really but they do taste oh so good.

I think overall, darker colors are considered unlucky, with the exception of red.

Green is usually associated with luck, but maybe the darker shades of green can be associated with disease or sickness.
Reply:its all superstition anyways. i would have said green was the least unlucky color. make of it what you wish but if you like the color green than its pretty lucky to get chosen by you!!
Reply:Never heard that. To me green is a beautiful color. It represents Spring to me. After a long, hard winter. Green is all I want to see.
