4 or 3

How many leaves does a shamrock have?
3
Reply:A regular shamrock has 3 leaves, which is how St. Patrick taught the Irish people about Christianity (the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost)

A 4 - leaf clover has 4 leaves, and it's pretty lucky and rare to find one!
Reply:The Shamrock, at one time called the "Seamroy", symbolizes the cross and blessed trinity. Before the Christian era it was a sacred plant of the Druids of Ireland because its leaves formed a triad. Therefore a true "shamrock" has 3 leaves.

But occasionally you will find one w/ 4 leaves. It's an anomaly, and becasue it is rare it is considered by some to be "lucky."
Reply:A shamrock plant has many leaves. Each leaf has three lobes. In rare cases, a leaf will have four lobes, just like clover.
