Who has the best punch MMA wise?

Left hook

Right cross

straight right

jab

unorthodox punches, looping or what ever

Excetera,..

Which fighters are known for having the best punches individually and why, biomechanically structuraly speaking?

Hypothetical Ex. Chuck Liddell has the best right cross because of he way he steps forward with his left and twist his hips, Frank Shamrock has the best left hook because of his balance and ability to set it up. Sean Sherk jab because blah blah blah

Who has the best punch MMA wise?
Left Hook: I would go with Chuck Liddell's left hook, he has hurt a lot of guys with it finishing them off with the right. It is dangerous because he is hellaciously accurate more so than powerful. Biomechanically it is because all his wide looping shots are set up by his wide stance (perfect for his sprawl), and his footwork. He closes the distances off, and is tremendously accurate. Not needing a ton of power, he can find someone's chin probably better than most people in Professional boxing can.

Overhand Right: Dan Hollywood Henderson hands down on this one, that guy can finish a fight on that one shot if his alone. Biomechanically, not sure. It is pretty wide and looping and he puts a lot of hips and body into it. Also he is accurate, which is more important than power. It takes a lot less power to KO someone if you are hitting them across the chin.

Unorthodox punches: Fedor wins this one, he trains with retreating punches, awesome counters, and even his swing and ground and pound are unique and highly effecient. Biomechanically one of the most sound and disciplined strikers out there. Strong hip rotation, full utilization of his body in his blows.

Jab: God, I hate to say this... but Tim Syvlia has probably one of the better jabs in MMA. He has used it to his advantage, and even KO'd guys and hurt them with his jab... ughh. Biomechanically, his height and weight help set him up, he also has sound technique in this area and has a great step jab.

Right cross: A lot of guys have decent right crosses, no one comes to mind as being known for their right cross (aside from Dan's overhand right) so hard to say.

Elbows, Thai: Obviously Anderson Silva is scary with these, he is one of the few guys that can be on the bottom and still deliver massive punishment to his opponent. Sound technique pretty much paves the way for this, the fast that he has very explosive fast twitch muscles, allows him to explode a shot in with very little distance needed.

Short punches: Randy Couture pretty much honed dirty boxing in the UFC, his clinch and dirty boxing stylistically are second to none.

That is my little rundown off the top of my head.
Reply:Lots of ways to argue this one. Too many “great punchers” can fight for five minutes and never land a clean shot. That makes their punching pretty worthless.

I'm going to argue Fedor. He is the smartest fighter and maximizes the use of every punch he throws. One punch may be used to set up another punch, a knee, a takedown, you name it, but the purpose is always deeper than an easy knockout and the execution is almost always flawless.
Reply:Liddell - hooks

Arlovske - overhand right

Just because they do it well.
Reply:Rampage... Proof is in the pudding... Although, I hate his stupid howling...
Reply:Hollywood Hendo has a big overhand right that he's knocked out a lot of guys with. Cro Cop's big left leg kick. Wanderlei and Anderson Silva's knees. Kenny Florian and David Louazo(sp?) elbows. That's all I got for now.
Reply:Right Cross = Dan Henderson

Hooks = Rampage

Jab = no one.

Wanderlai silva has good heavy hands although very wild.
Reply:Mike Tyson
Reply:Vitor Belfort. Period. Beautiful jabs and straights, as good as anyone else with any other punch. I can't believe I'm the first person to say Vitor Belfort. I don't think MMA has had a better boxer than Vitor.
Reply:jackson.
Reply:To many great strikers to select one for each strike. I like Anderson Silva, Chuck Liddell, Clay Guida and even though he has to prove himself a little more Houston Alexander.
