Earlier, I saw a question asking why there is a guy banging a pot at Yankee games.
That guy is Freddy. He carries a different sign every night and carries a pot with a shamrock and a spoon for people to hit it.
What is your teams "official" rally person or thing? Do you like it or no?
And for Yankee fans since I already stated ours- What do you think of what Freddy does?
Who or what is your teams rally-er?
I love Freddy. Freddy "Sez". He's cool, a really sweet fella. He's been coming to games for a long time. I've banged that pot a couple of times before. You can always recognize that sound at the games. I hope he sticks around a lot longer, because he is getting up there in age.
Reply:Ronnie Woo-Woo
If Ernie Banks is Mr.Cub, then Ronnie “Woo Woo” Wickers is Mr. Cub Fan.
Ronnie has been wooing since 1958ish %26amp; they are making a movie about him. Harry Caray dubbed Wickers "Leather Lungs" for his ability to shout for hours at a time.[4] Indeed, Wickers once received a noise violation ticket after wooing for over six hours. However, the ticket was later dropped.[4] Some critics have characterized Wickers as "foul and vulgar," although Wickers' supporters insist that he never uses profanities.[3] Though considered to be the unofficial mascot of the Cubs, Wickers is not employed by the team.

Reply:For the Diamondbacks we have our mascot D. Baxter, the Bobcat. He usually leads in cheering, by clapping on the dugouts and getting things going. I like Baxter, but it is weird having a cat as our mascot, saying our team is named after a snake. Now that the ballpark has changed names, it is even harder to justify. When it was Bank One Ballpark (which everybody called the B. O. B.) it was kind of clever, but now that is Chase Field, it confuses a lot of people.
Reply:Also a Yankees fan so Baggin' Freddy is our go-to rally person. I think it's great that he walks aroud the Stadium and allows people to hit his pan. I have done it once and it was great. It makes a pretty loud sound if your watching the game from home. I hope he continues for as long as possible. We really need him with our record,
Reply:Having never been to a Red Sox game, I don't know. But I do know that in Anaheim... errr... Los Angeles near Anaheim, there is this jumping monkey on the supertron wearing an Angels jersey. The crowd goes crazy when the Monkey shows up. They sell monkey toys in the gift shops. The Rally Monkey is everywhere.
It's fun, but it's starting to get old. Worked for the '02 WS season, but been lackluster since.
Reply:I was at a game where a bunch of drunk kids were harassing Freddy. I think they weren't giving him his spoon back or something and these other dudes gave the kids a whoopin'. They all got tossed but it was great to see some fans stand up for Freddy! Yes, I've hit the pot a few times...hahaha
Reply:Oh i heard of him he is okay, But the Yankees don't really need a Mascot or anything of that Matter they have the Crowd to get them pumped
Reply:my favorite mascot is the pirates AA mascot, Steamer.
