Does it hurt to get a tattoo on your lower hip?

I'm thinking of getting a shamrock, but I'm afraid it's gonna KILL!! I watch to much Maimi Ink..

Does it hurt to get a tattoo on your lower hip?
i love that show! your hip is just fat and bone really. of course its going to hurt your are sticking a needle in and out of your body, but the pain should be bareable. i have a tattoo on my ankle and the bottom part goes over the tendant in the back of my foot, did it hurt yes but i made it threw, i also have on on my shoulder and it too was painful but nothing that couldn't be tolerated. take a chance if you are sure about your design it is well worth it.
Reply:i just got one done 2 days ago, and it did not hurt. the first few secounds hurt but your skin numbs fast. Report It
Reply:I have three tattoos, one being on my hip. I felt that the one on my hip didn't hurt as the one say on my lower back, yea it is all bone but the area of your hip is small and the tattoo doesn't take long at all. I have a star, and a shamrock would be about the same size. I mean all tattoos hurt, but if the tattoo artist will stop and give you a break if need be, but it really isn't' that bad, it will be over before you know it. Word of advice, listen to the artist when he says to not wearing jeans or anything with a high waist band that will rub against it because I did and I have a white spot in the middle because when it starts to peel it could rub right off! Good Luck!
Reply:HOW OLD ARE YOU!!! honestly...if a tattoo is what you want then fine...thats you...but to tell you the truth..OF COURSE ITS GONNA HURT...gettin a tattoo anywhere will hurt...just as much as a piercing does...if you want that then go ahead but honestly...it may look nice now but it won't in about 20-30 years( depending on your age) when you have kids and are aging...
Reply:I got a tattoo on my hip and one on my lower back. The one on my hip was no problem it did hurt but not as much as my lower back. It also depends on if you are going to color it or shade it in. I don't know if I would get another tattoo after the pain I went through.
Reply:Please reconsider
Reply:Oh man. It WILL kill. Its one of the most sensitive areas to get a tat because the needle will be going right over the bone. It usually also takes a lot longer to heal because your are always bending at the hips. When you sit or bend over or anything you'll be causing the tattoo to move and stretch... it bleeds a lot the first day.
Reply:Yes because you really have no fat their and it is almost Bone. Well i would go for somewhere that has a lot of fat such as your leg or arm.
Reply:yes.

tattoos generally hurt the closer it is to the bone
