Man i still cannot believe that Frank just loss that fight, although Cung Le is an excellent excellent fighter, he proved that in the world of Kick Boxing, and now he's proving it in the MMA world, but still i think Frank loss that fight because he underestimates to Cung, and you just can't do that against someone like Cung Le. Frank is my idol, i think he still is the best fighter alive, but maybe his mistake was his super self-confidence, but ?what do you think about that? and ?what is next to Frank? ?what is next to Cung Le? maybe Jorge Santiago the last Strikeforce tournament champion, you tell me.
What do you think was the cause of the loss of Frank Shamrock in his last match?
I don't think he underestimated Cung Le. They used to be training partners and he knows Le too well for that.
He also said that he chose to "play the villian" to hype the fight, that he Le have known each other along time and get along well.
I think he lost the fight because Cung Le is a better fighter.
Le is faster, more accurate, and "more weapons" than Frank did. By more weapons I mean the variety of kicks, punches and angles. Too many MMA guys only know how to throw low round kicks. Le was using side kicks, round kicks, hook kicks, spinning back kick, spinning hook kick and he was able to do it with either leg at any height.
Le was able to keep the fight standing up. Frank had his back in the 1st round, and couldnt take him down. He tried to take him down again, but couldnt, so he had to try to strike with him.

Reply:Being cocky and trading with Le. I can't stand Frank with his cocky attitude. He calls himself the "Top MMA fighter alive". But honestly, who has he beat in the last couple of years? His last notable win, which isn't saying much today, was Tito Ortiz. At the time, Tito was in his prime. I was happy to hear Le broke his arm in 2 places. I'd like to see him face Anderson Silva. Silva would DESTROY Frank.
Reply:Frank has only himself to blame for losing that fight. He foolishly tried to stand up with Cung instead of taking it to the ground where he has the advantage. Frank should have been trying to submit him instead of trading strikes and he paid the price. He was too arrogant and over-confident and that cost him the fight.
Reply:I agree. His mistake was thinking he could take could take Cung Le satnding up. I like Frank Shamrock but soemtimes, he's just as dumb as Ken.
Reply:Bad gameplan.
You don't stand and strike against a striker, and that's just what Frank did, it was an idiotic idea to trade against a sanda expert.
Reply:a lot of people know cung le for his stand up, but he use to do this crazy sport, standup with takedowns.
so he knows takedowns and takedown defence.
maybe frank should of tried harder for takedown+subs. but i dunno if he could succeed.
Reply:The broken arm probably had something to do with it.
