I want a tattoo of something that represents my Irish heritage, what could i get to rep that? Any ideas??????
Here are a few websites ... some of them are flash and some of them explain what the symbols and meanings stand for ... good luck ... I say pick out a few things you like and come up with your own design ... have the artist draw something up for you ... and there ya go ... take care ... !
Reply:The Celtic Knot sounds good. Leprechaun, well................that would be a bit strange. Why don't you look up for Irish symbols and see what you like
Reply:look for your family crest,, or shield,,

Reply:how about a celtic knot?
Reply:The CLADDAGH!
(Hands holding a crowned heart)
Look it up...
Reply:get a 4 leaf clover I've seen someone with one and it looks good...
Reply:I've ALWAYS loved the idea of the Celtic claddagh. I think it's such a great design. Faith, love and loyalty. What more could you want in a tattoo?
Here's a design: http://www.tattoosymbol.com/celtic/cladd...
Google "Claddagh tattoo" there's some designs there.
Good luck!!
Reply:Two ideas spring to mind;
An Irish Harp (The Irish LOVE their harps, even follwing them into battle for centuries)
A Tara Brooch (Given by the King of Ireland to worthy subjects for their valor or ingenuity or acheivements)
Personally, I'd go with the Tara Brooch myself... mine looks terrific on my dress wear...
Color it in Red, Green, and Blue gemstones (Rubies, Emeralds, and Topaz) and it will look AWESOME..!!!
(Yes, mine was publicly presented to me but NOT by the King of Ireland.......)
Reply:I know it's common, but I'm getting a four leaf clover. My heritage is Irish, so that's obviously the main reason, but the four leaf clover has more than one other special meaning to me as well which is why I can't STAND people telling me it's a bad idea cause it isn't original.
Other ideas I was considering before settling on the clover were the flag, a tiny Celtic cross, getting a shamrock with one green, one white and one orange leaf, and I was also looking at getting something to represent my family name but I couldn't come up with anything good enough. :)
Good luck!!!
Reply:maybe a leprechan, or something representing St. Patty's day. but the traditional four leaf clover always does the job.
Reply:Well if you were born in America you are an American so why not an American flag to represent your American heritage.
If you were born in Ireland get a Leprechaun dancing around a pot of gold with a pint in his hand and a rainbow in the background.
Reply:you know what, you could do anyshape or picture you want, like for example a heart and have it shaded in the irish flag colors. try to think outside of the actualy picture representing your heritage. try to think of something nice you would like to get tatted on your body and have the irish colors shaded in :)
